You will first visit a section of the Great Wall. The Great Wall stretches 6000 kilometers from East to West China, traversing five provinces and two autonomous regions. Built first in 221 B.C. and re-built several times in the following 1500 years, it has become a symbol of the ancient Chinese civilization. Then, after lunch, you will visit an emperor's tomb of the Ming Dynasty (1380-1644).
In this one-day tour, you will see the Tian'anmen Square, Imperial Palace and the Temple of Heaven. Tian'anmen square is located in the center of the city, to the south of the Forbidden City. It is the largest city square in the world. At the Square, there are Mao's Mausoleum, the Museum of the Chinese History and the Great Hall of the People (parliament building). The Forbidden City was constructed in 1406. It was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties from 1420 to 1911. It was China's political center for 500 years. Temple of Heaven was built 600 years ago. It served as a means of communication between the Emperor and the Heaven, and is a masterpiece of ancient architecture.
This is a tour for you to know more about the city. You will visit the backyards of Beijing, on a pedicab, across the small zig-zag lanes. Capital Museum is second only to the National Museum of China in terms of size. There are 5,622 items on display: high-definition photos of cultural relics, archive pictures of Beijing, historical sites, dramas and operas, and traditional folk art etc. To see all the exhibitions, it would take at least four or five hours. Cities of the Post-Conference ToursXi'an ranks first among the seven ancient capitals of China. Since 1100 B.C., 12 dynasties successively made Xi'an their capital. Xi'an is also the beginning of the world famous ancient silk rout. Qin Shihuang's Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses made more than 2,000 years ago and that were designated as the 8th Great Wonders in the World. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was built in 648 A.D., and is a typical ancient storied building. Guilin is a famous scenic spot in China with the finest mountains and waters under heaven and therefore considered the best place to tour. In side the cave everywhere there are stone pillars, stone shoots, stone screens and stalactites. All are surpassingly elegant and morphologically diversifying. The Li River connecting Guilin with Yang Shuo, is 40 kilometers long, with hundreds of mountains and peaks casting their reflections in the water. When cruising down the river, you can see many beautiful bamboo forests, magnificent mountains and peak and fishing boats. Lhasa the capital of Tibet and is called the "city of the sun". Standing on a plain over 13,000 feet above sea level, surrounded by towering mountains, Lhasa is a town bathed in sunlight. The Potala Palace served as a fortress and as the residence of the Dalai Lamas, and so was the center of both political and religious power in Tibet. The magnificent Jokhang Temple, founded more than 1,300 years ago, is situated in the center of Lhasa. In front of the gate stands a stone tablet from the Tang Dynasty, bearing both Chinese characters and Tibetan script. Nearby is the Tang willow tree planted by Princess Wen Cheng.
