For National Representatives to submit manuscripts to the Editor: June 1, 2007.

Instructions for Authors

Authors of accepted papers are advised to following the following instructions on full-length paper submission.

First, start the process for clearance/approval for public release of your paper, if needed, as soon as at all feasible. It is your responsibility to obtain the necessary clearances and/or approvals.

Secondly, submit your manuscripts (an electronic copy and two paper copies) to a National Representative (National Representative List), or, if you do not have one, to the ISOABE Administrative Secretary Prof. Frans Breugelmans (e-mail: fb.isabe@skynet.be) before April 29, 2007. DO NOT submit your manuscript directly to the Editor.

Together with each final manuscript, the authors should also send the completed Author Check List and Author Sheet (see below).

Each manuscript should be sent as follows:

For the electronic copy

  • Use Microsoft Word (MS Word - *.doc) format for both the text and figures
  • Electronic version should be capable of permitting corrections and/or changes by the Editor to assure format and layout uniformity of all papers
  • Send over the Internet or, if too large a file, mail a 3.5" disc or a CD-ROM to your National Representative

For the paper copies

  • Same format as electronic copies
  • Send an original plus one copy to your National Representative. The original will be forwarded to the Editor. The National Representative will retain the paper and electronic copies as a backup.

General Policies of Conference

  • A manuscript must accompany all presentations, including all Contributed Technical Papers and Invited Plenary Lectures.
  • The manuscript must be received in time to be included in the Proceedings on CD-ROM and Book of Abstracts, both of which will be provided to the Registrants at the opening of the Conference. No hand-carried or loose papers are permitted. Papers for which no manuscript is available will be dropped from the Final Program.
  • The author/presenter must pre-register for the conference and have a room reserved at the conference venue or the paper will be dropped from the Final Program.

Format of Manuscripts

  • Length: The anticipated nominal length of a paper is eight (8) pages, in the designated format. Some latitude in length is permissible, but excessively long papers are strongly discouraged.
  • Authorship: No more than 4 authors can be listed under the Title. Additional contributing authors must be listed in a footnote, as given under format below.
  • Cover Page: format per provided Sample), which should include: Title, Authors (maximum of 4), Affiliations, Other Contributing Authors: Names only (as a footnote)
  • Text: 10 Pitch, double column, format per provided Sample, using MS Word (*.doc)
  • Color: Figures and photographs can be in color. Movies cannot be embedded as part of a manuscript, although brief video clips can be included in the presentation if selected stills are included in the manuscript.

Format of Extended Abstracts

A book of abstracts will be prepared and distributed, along with a CD-ROM copy of Proceedings, to the Registrants at the conference. It is therefore important that the abstract is self-contained, and attracts the reader to the full paper.

  • Maximum of 100 words (a complete summary by itself) with title, authors and affiliation
  • List of key words (2 to 4) at bottom

Author Sheet

The Author Sheet should contain the following information:

  • Contact Author: Name, Address, Phone and fax numbers, and E-mail address
  • Presenting Author's biography: One-half page, or less, single spaced
